When the Deluxe Board Games was the best there could be, the Big Bang Board Games! It uses the iChat application to play 7 (I think) fantastic games. With the click of a button you can send your 'game key' to anyone on your buddy list. Even if your friend dosen't have it, you can send the whole game to him/her with the click of another button. Finally, a suite of board games made just for the Mac! Checkers, Reversi, Mancalla, Backgammon, 4-In-A-Row, Tic-Tac-Toe and the Apple Design Award Winning Big Bang Chess are all included in this collection. Play solo against the computer, with a friend via iChat or email, or make new friends on the GameSmith game matching service.

Guides on emulating older games
Big Bang Board Games includes Chess, Checkers, Reversi, Tic-Tac-Toe, Mancala, Backgammon and 4-in-a-Row, all sharing common integration with Apple's iLife applications. Each game lets you play and manage iTunes songs for your soundtrack, and support 'play by e-mail' functionality through Mail and Address Book. What's more, you can invite buddies to matches using iChat, share pictures with your game opponent using your iSight camera. (Macworld, Oct 26, 2004)
The games in Big Bang Board Games were also available individually from the publisher. Freeverse no longer exists, so it is not possible to purchase this product any more.
Big Bang Board Games
DL #1 contains all 7 individual games v2.3.4 PPC-only year 2004, are unregistered downloads from an old Freeverse website. These tested do not work using OSX 10.3.5 or older, possibly because of the aforementioned integration with iLife.
DL #2 is v2.5.8 year 2008 Universal Binaries.
DL #3 is v2.3.4 year 2006 Universal Binaries and all unlocked so that registering isn't needed. This bunch tested working in OSX 10.4.8 and later, not working in 10.3.5 or older, the status of OSX '10.3.9' wasn't tried. This very package was found on an oem grey install disc OSX 10.4.8 for MacBook2,1 and is registered using the name 'Apple OEM'. Included is a comprehensive user's Manual in PDF, English and Japanese.
Other registration, if necessary, for one game, effectively registers you for the whole package. Details:
